Kay Hall is recognized as a leading expert on creative desktop printing (a.k.a. "recreational printing," "novelty printing" or "computer crafts") in the home and small/home office. For over eight years, she has developed techniques and written on the subject for FamilyPC, Dynamic Graphics, Flash and Home Office Computing, among others. She authored the first computer crafts book for adults, The Color Printer Idea Book, which was published by No Starch Press in October 1998.

As an independent consultant she works with companies (including Fortune 500) in the printer, printing supplies, software and craft industries to increase their understanding of the creative desktop printing consumer and develop new products, product applications and marketing strategies. She is also a speaker at various conferences and industry events.

Previously, Mrs. Hall served as a retail marketing representative for Apple Macintosh computers and imaging peripherals. She holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a masters degree in engineering management and was formerly a Project Manager on the U.S. Space Station Program.

Kay Hall has written two books and over 200 SOHO technology, desktop publishing and family computing articles for more than two dozen trade and consumer publications. She has been a Contributing Editor for five magazines including ComputerUser (circ. 1.5 million +) where she wrote monthly career and training columns.

Mrs. Hall has completed a number of writing and editing assignments for corporate clients and specializes in developing Web content for businesses of all sizes. One of her personal Web sites, The Font Fairy, garners over 600 visitors daily and has been featured in national magazines.
